any acid added to water (a good conc) is an exothermic process...a highly conc acid when added to water can cause explosion...the reverse i.e adding water to acid is dilution and does not liberate heat.. H2SO4 (conc) + H2O (excess) ------> HEAT ! i may be wrong | |||||||||||||
