Industrial Engineering, also known as Production engineering, Operations management and Manufacturing Engineering

Industrial Engineering, also known as Production engineering, Operations management and Manufacturing Engineering, deals with the development, improvement, implementation and evaluation of integrated systems of people, knowledge, equipment, energy, material and process. It is based on principles and methods of engineering analysis and synthesis and eliminates waste of time, money, materials, energy and other resources. The best aspect of Industrial Engineering is that it can be applied in virtually every industry! Originally applied to manufacturing, it has extended its service to similar fields like operations research, systems engineering, ergonomics and quality engineering. 10+2 or equivalent with science as a subject is the basic eligibility criteria for the admission to the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, a Bachelor's Degree in any branch of engineering/technology (BE / BTech) or equivalent with first division for a PG course and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering for Ph. D.
