Instrumentation Engineering
Engineering Entrance , AIEEE
Instrumentation Engineering:
One of the complicated but sophisticated branches of engineering is Instrumentation engineering. It is also studied along with electronics engineering and basically deals with the design, configuration and automated systems. Instrumentation engineers are employed at essential positions in the industrial manufacturing sector and usually work in industries with automated processes, such as chemical or manufacturing plants with the goal of improving system productivity, reliability and stability. For bachelors in instrumentation engineering/electronics and instrumentation engineering a student must clear 10+2 or equivalent with science (physics and chemistry) and mathematics.
Career Prospects:
Instrumentation Engineers are responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of instruments and entire instrumentation systems considered being the eyes and ears of any industrial undertaking. The type of instruments needed for ensuring better quality and efficiency of the end product are decided by an instrumentation engineer. They find jobs in various sectors including R&D units of public and private sector companies, heavy industries such as thermal power stations, steel plants, refineries, cement and fertilizer plants etc. Companies manufacturing specialized instruments and the user industries themselves, both in public as well as private sectors, employ Instrumentation Engineers.
Institutes Offering:
Many of the engineering colleges in India offer B.E./BTech programs in instrumentation engineering as a separate branch or as combined subject with electronics. Some of them are
• Indian Institutes of Technology,
• Birla institute of Technology,
• National Institutes of Technology,
• Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University),
• College of Engineering and Technology (Anna University)
