hey

SInce u are in 10th u need a simple model and not a tough one i guess. DO u know about the conic sections??

U may not b fully aware of it but even then let me tell u one. There is a conic section called elipse. The property of this is that if u measure the sum of distances of any point on the surface of elipse from two fixed points then it is always same. these two fixed points are called the foci.

Now I do not see ellipse in ur list of topics. But u have circles and also quadratic equations. So, ellipse wud be just an extension of them and using just a little bit of more knowledge u will making something good.

Now wat u shud do is to take two points put nail at those two points and them tie a string around with both ends tied to these two nails. Now if u will take pencil get it between the string so that it can freely move in string and move it in 360 degrees u will draw an ellipse.

Have u got wat I tried to explain.. ?
