see..if a compound undergoes dissociation or association in a solvent...then no. of particles are changed...so colligative property changes....now to find the correct colligative effect... i= observed effect/normal effect=(no. of moles after association or diss./initial moles)
also note that moles and molecular mass have inverse relation ...so...
i= normal mol. mass/ observed molar mass
