For the first particle, the y coordinate (measured from the projection point is) y₁ = ut + (1/2)gt² and for the second particle it is y₂ = u(t-2) + (1/2)g(t-2)

When they collide, y₁ = y₂ . Solve this equation to get the value of t and substitute in any of the equations to get the height
