though benzoic acid is more acidic than all other carboxylic acids bcoz....... the carboxylate ion whr there is destabilisation due to the electron donating alkyl groups...(thus increasing -ve charge on the oxygen of the carboxylate ion.....nd decresing acidity) is less stable than carboxylic acid however in case of the formic acid the alkyl gp is actually -H which has no destabilsing factor for formate ion nd hence formate ion is highly stabilised as compared to formic acid . whereas benzoic acid is itself resonance stabilised thus benzoate ion is ot very stable compared to benzoic acid hence we conclude formic acid is more acidic than benzoic acid
i hope thts clear
do rate d efforts
