peroxide are those releases H2O2 when reacts with dilute acids for example sodium peroxide reacts with dil. H2SO4 to form hydrogen peroxide gas.remember lithium cannot form peroxide while sodium and potasium can form.these contain O-O bond with single bond.super oxide are those when reacts with dilute acid form both H2O2 and O2.for example KO2.these are paramagnetic and coloured due to odd electron system .KO2 is yellow in colour and use as air purifier because it absorb CO2 and releases oxygen gas.Rb and Cs only form super oxide with general formula MO2.KO2 also used by swimmers in submarine.
