MATHEMATICAL TRAP

Hey Diary,
Consider any two digit number, say 15........................
Now reverse the digits...............U'll get 51...................

Subtract the smaller number from the bigger one......i.e. 51 - 15 = 36....................

As it can be seen, sum of the two digits = 9..................

U may try this for any two digit number and u'll get the same result................

One of my friends tried to trick me into believing that this is a wonderful trick.....He made me select a two digit number. (I selected 15)..........Told me to reverse....Then subtract.........Then asked me one of the digits............I said 3................He announced with a proud smile, 'The other is 6'.................Holy shit!!

He thought that I would start regarding him a mathematical wizard.........I knew he had only 'learnt' the trick from someone else who would have learnt it from someone else who again, would have learnt it from someone else..........But I also knew that none of them could give a mathematical explanation for it.......

Hence, to crack the code, I took a pen and paper, and scribbled this little proof..........

Any two digit number is:
10X + Y, such that Y>X

On reversing, it turns into:
10Y + X

Difference of the two numbers = 10(Y-X) + (X-Y)

Hence, one of the digits = (Y-X) - 1                  {since X-Y is a negative number}

Other digit = 10 + (X-Y)                                    {since X-Y is a negative number}

Adding the two digits, we have, Digit-1 + Digit-2 = 9

Hence, proved................

MORAL OF THE STORY: There is a reason for every damn earthly phenomenon...........No magic, no miracle.............

HATS OFF!!! Einstein!!!!.............
