If u draw the graph...it would then be more clear...
note that x=1 is included when definition of function is 3-x... To draw a line which joins x=a and x = a-h...a lies on 3-x and a-h lies on x...so derivative doesn't exist...
u can see the same thing by definition of derivative at that point...
