If more than 1 fuctional group is there in an compound we must decide PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL GROUP  (which gives class of organic compound) using priority table P.F.G will be written as suffix & rest functional groups are written as prefixs for e.g if compound contains - OH  as well as acidic group suffix will be oic acid  & prefix is hydroxy  for -OH  grp -COOH has more priority than -OH
