Let the roots of equation whose roots are absissa be A1 and A2 and the roots of other eq are B1 and B2.
Now (A1-A2)^2 = (Sum of Roots )^2 - 4(Product of Roots) = 4a^2 + 4b^2
Similarly (B1-B2)^2 = 4c^2 - 4d^2
Now PQ = Sqrt [ {A1-A2}^2 + {B1 - B2}^2]
Substituting values from above
PQ=2*Sqrt [a^2 + b^2 + c^2 - d^2]
