sigma bond is stronger bond than pi bond because in case of sigma bond overlapping area is more.in all sigma bond P-P >S-P>S-S >P-P pi so p-p sigma is strongest because directional nature is more ,nuclear-nuclear repulsion is less so strength is more ,in case of s-s sigma nulear repulsion is more so strength is less than p-p sigma.in all these pi bond is weakest because sidewise less overlapping. | |||||||||||||
