the formula editors isn't working so try to understand the text d - density x - static pressure at a distance r from the axis of orfice p - atmospheric pressure a - r subscript 1
here the opening of orfice is exposed to atmosphere hence the pressure there is atmospheric pressure by bernolis equation(the two points of applicarion are - one at the bottom of the vessel at a dis h from the top of vessel and the other point is a r=t a dis r from the axis of cylinder) p + dgh = x + 1/2dv^2
applying equation of conitunity 2(pi)rd*v = 2(pi)ad*(root over 2gh) here d is the clearance distance draw a top crosectional figure u will easily understand it hence v = (a/r)(root over 2gh)
Substuting this in the bernoulis eq. and solving for x u get x = p + dgh[1-(a^2/r^2)]
replace the given alphabets u will have the required ans. if u haven't understood anything mail me at harry_simplysuperb@yahoo.com
