velocity is the rate of displacement. i.e. the displacement covered in unit time.
Angular velocity is similar to this only difference is that, here we are considering body undergoing circular motion.
The rate of angular displacement is called as the angular velocity. i.e. the angle described by the radius of a circular path in unit time. Hope it is clear. More information can be given with a fig.
