ice is a pure substance....and so has a sharp melting point..

 

but this is not the case with glass

 

glass is an amorphous solid.....it has a varied composition i.e silics , oxides of  calcium & sodium etc etc ....each of which has a different melting point

so glass not being a pure substance doesn't have a sharp melting point
