Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or may be thought to be. In much more complex words, reality is merely an illusion, although a very persistent one. There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.
When I was young, just two years back, I was getting an opportunity to persue Petroleum Engineering at Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. I said to myself, Petroleum! Cool! Its digging time.. Seemed to me as something different than others. Unfortunately, it was.
Know what? 'Indian', 'School', 'Mines', 'Dhanbad', I heartily hate all four of them.
Imagine yourself at a deck, a big ship. There's water all around you, every-f*cking-where you look. Wow. What a scene. Now imagine that you're stuck there for months doing nothing but 'oiling out your life'. Day and Night. Welcome to the life of an off-shore petroleum engineer. I'll better be a pornstar but I aint going there.
Stop kidding yourself. You dont want money. You cant just sell yourself right away for something as filthy as that. Now look, I'm serious, this isnt another one of those funny articles critisising those great stuff. This is the truth and not a piece of frustration typed out at 2 am at night.
If you're happy with your greasy office, let me further delight you by sharing my college life. College! Aah! Asia's best they say. Fools! Every morning all 102 of us wake up with the same disturbing sissy thought, 'WHY are we here?' 'why?' Our only fault was that we were a lil' smarter than the rest, scored a lil' more in exams and were completely f*cking unaware of the deadly S32. S stands for Son of a bi*ch, and 32 is the average life span of a petroleum engineer.
We do not mean harm, we do not mean violence, we are nice guys, we just smoke, drink, crack and smack a little. Spend our nights at Dhanbad Railway Station, having a samosa in one and chai in another hand, pondering over the same thought over and over and over.. But we're happy. We dont have/need/deserve girls, we're gays. Some of us were, the rest just eventually evolved.
The same is with malls, landscapes, happy meals, bikes (even roads) and every other negligibly important aspect of college life. Yes, its ruined. Sitting at the last bench, we have nothing much to do than to see our golden years melting off while we are calculating the shape and size of our graves, its depth, height, weight, the borehole pressure, the outburst pressure, the density of mud, even the color and taste of mud.. and what not!
You only get one chance, one opportunity, one college in a lifetime.
102 out of 103 of us admit that their a$$es are drilled.
102 out of 103 are loving it. F*ck! I'm not.
Thought of the day: Petroleum Engineering is NOT good for health.
