Kushal it was exciting question. However cvramana, I hope that the question was like this, if a particle reaches speed nearer to speed of light, then what exactly happens to its mass wrt mass at rest.
Kushal, I suppose both can happen innacoradance with what we are dealing for. For macroscopic particles i thin the first one take place and microscopic mass increases. Note that the funda behind my talk is in accordance to uncertainity with dual nature of particles at such high velocity. Fundamental particles, photos obey for uncertainity. To consider majour difference in position, we can suppose that mass increases and decreases in the conditions wrt to what we apply the theorm for.
