Now the given pair of lines can be split into linear factors as

a2x + hy (+ -) y (h2-a2b2).

(+ -) stands for plus or minus.

Using the two equations, we get the slopes as

-a/(h(+ -) h2-a2b2) ,

Now, use the condition that one slope is three times the other. Doing so, we get the value of h to be 2ab/ 3.
