This year, modifications in AIEEE 2011 counseling and admission process done by CCB will keep the not-so-serious students out of the conflict. Sandeep Sancheti, Chairman of CCB board and also director of NIT-K said that since the online AIEEE admission process of filling up of choices and choice-locking in the online process is free, students were playing with the system in the previous years. Students not getting seats of their choice as the online rounds in counselling progressed were not turning up for admission leading to seats remaining vacant. So, for addressing this issue, the number of online counseling rounds has been reduced from seven to five by central counseling board.
After completion of all five rounds of counseling, CCB board will introduce internal sliding wherein students already got admission based on vacancy can choose higher branch of learning based on their choices. Thereafter, the remaining seats will be up for spot round. Candidates, who haven’t got their choice of branch, can log on CCB website from the date 11th August to 13th August for fresh filling of choices and locking the same. Then, they would require to go to their nearest reporting centers i.e. 38 in all over the country to verify their documents as well as pay fee of Rs. 35000 or 25000 up front and confirm their choice.
For serious students only, it would bring to spot round of seat allotment on 14th August. In case, students fail to report at this juncture (August 16-20) would lead to penalty of fees paid by them and those candidates accepting this offer will see the fees adjusted against the fee charged by institutions where they obtain admission.
