R-S provides a marvellous technique by using which we can easily find that a particular  compound is mirror image of other or not!
moreover, disteromers, enantiomers, etc can also be found using this technique.

If configuration on all respective chiral carbon is just opposite, then only the molecule under consideration is mutual mirror image.

opyical activity of any compoud can also be found using this technique
R or S  is distinguished or designated as following

1)Priority of group(or atom) is assigned on the basis of atomic no. (if there is no isotopes)
2)then the structure is brought in fischers projection
3)The lowest priority group is brought in the lowest position (if it  is not initially)
4) the position of  other 2 groups are also interchanged
5)Now, go in a circular path such that groups(or atom ) bearing 1st & 2nd priority comes consecutively

IF THE PATH COMES CLOCKWISE THEN IT IS CONFIGURED AS R AND IF IS IN ANTICLOCKWISE IT IS S
FOR mors details u can look solomon or morison-boyd

HOPE it helps(i dont no to form picturs hr sorry 4 that)...................
