NERIST Exam Pattern
Engineering Entrance , NERIST
North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) Paper Pattern:
NERIST Test Pattern:
Candidates from Northern east part of India preparing NERIST entrance test must go through question paper pattern in NERIST. Your preparation should be according to described test pattern of NERIST as described below..
NEE-I Paper Pattern:
It has one question paper of 150 marks consisting of three sections and of three hours’ duration. All questions will be of objective type with multiple-choice answers. For every wrong answer to a question, 25% (¼th) of the marks
carried by that question will be deducted. There shall be no deduction for un-attempted question.
Entrance Scheme for NEE-I:
Applicants shall have to attempt all the questions in all the sections of NERIST. The section and subject-wise distributions of marks are given below:
Section-A (Physics) 35 marks: 35 questions of 1 mark each
Section-B (Chemistry) 35 marks: 35 questions of 1 mark each
Section-C (Mathematics) 80 marks: 30 questions of 1 mark each, 25 questions of 2 marks each.
NEE-II Entrance Pattern:
It has one question paper of 150 marks and of three hours’ duration. All questions will be of objective type with multiple-choice answers. For every wrong answer to a question, 25% (¼th) of the marks carried by that question will be deducted. There shall be no deduction for un-attempted question.
Scheme for NEE-II:
There shall be two different modes of question papers:
(i) NEE-II (PCMB) (for both Technology stream and Forestry stream), (ii) NEE-II (Vocational) (for both Technology stream and Forestry stream).
(i.) NEE-II (PCMB): Pattern of question papers for applicants seeking admission to Diploma Module in Engineering/Technology (Technology stream) or Degree Module in Forestry (Forestry stream).
This set of question papers shall consist of four sections viz., Sections A, B, C and D.
Section A, B and C shall have to be attempted by all the applicants seeking admission to Technology stream; and
Section A, B and D shall have to be attempted by all applicants seeking admission to Forestry stream.
Applicants should not attempt all the four sections. They should adhere to the option (either A,B,C OR A,B,D) of the stream mentioned in their application. The section and subject-wise distributions of marks are given below:
Section-A (Physics): 25 questions of 1 mark each 45 marks. 10 questions of 2 marks each
Section-B (Chemistry): 25 questions of 1 mark each 45marks. 10 questions of 2 marks each
Section-C (Mathematics): 30 questions of 1 mark each 60 marks. 15 questions of 2 marks each
Section-D (Biology): 30 questions of 1 mark each 60 marks. 15 questions of 2 marks each
(ii.) NEE-II (Vocational): Pattern of question papers for applicants seeking admission to Diploma Module in Engineering/Technology (Technology stream) and to Degree Module in Forestry (Forestry stream):
This set of question papers shall consist of five sections, viz,. Sections A-1, A-2, A-3, B-1, and B-2. The
questions papers under the sections A-1 (Physics) and A-2 (Chemistry) shall be the same for both Technology stream and Forestry stream; whereas sections A-3, B-1, and B-2 shall be different for both of these two streams.
The section and subject-wise distributions of marks for Technology and Forestry streams are given below separately:
Common For Both Technology and Forestry Streams.
A-1 (Physics): 10 questions of 1 mark each 20 marks. 5 questions of 2 marks each
A-2 (Chemistry): 10 questions of 1 mark each 20 marks. 5 questions of 2 marks each
Only For Technology Stream A-3 (Mathematics): 10 questions of 1 mark each 30 marks. 10 questions of 2 marks each.
B-1 (Common Engineering Sciences) 30 marks. 20 questions of 1 mark each 5 questions of 2 marks each
NEE-III Entrance Pattern:
There shall be only one question paper of 150 marks consisting of four sections and of three hours’ duration. All questions will be of objective type with multiple-choice answers. For every wrong answer to a question, 25% (¼th) of the marks carried by that question will be deducted. There shall be no deduction for un-attempted question.
Scheme for NEE-III: There shall be a single set of the question papers for each discipline/branch consisting of four sections viz., Sections A, B, C and D. The section and subject-wise distributions of marks are given below:
Section-A (Physics): 25 marks. { 25 questions of 1 mark each
Section-B (Chemistry): 25 marks. { 25 questions of 1 mark each
Section-C (Mathematics): 25 marks. { 25 questions of 1 mark each
Section-D (Branch subject): 25 questions of 1 mark each 75marks. 25questions of 2 marks each
Sections A, B & C shall be common for all the disciplines/branches, and section–D shall pertain to the relevant branch (AE/CE/CS/EC/EE/ME) of engineering & technology. NEE-III question papers shall be discipline-wise containing all the four sections in each set.
