The carrom here is a 4 x 4 square. If the queen has to reach the pocket in a way you said, then it must hit the front edge at 1 ft away from the midpoint of the front edge.
(a) So magnitude of displacement is Sqrt ( 4 + 1 ) = sqrt 5 ft
(b) From front edge to hole, it is sqrt (16 + 1 ) = sqrt 17 ft
(c) from centre to hole, it is sqrt (4 + 4) = sqrt 8 ft....
