The sum will exceed 16 if the numbers rolled out are
6, 6, 5
6, 5, 6
5, 6, 6
6, 6, 6
So 4 ways.

Total individual roll die sums that can occur are :
6x6x6
= 216 ways

So number of ways in which the sum won't exceed 16:
= 216 - 4
= 212 ways

So the probabilty that the sum of the three numbers rolled out is less than 16 is :
212 / 216
= 53 / 54
