For the first time in history of Eamcet, the Eamcet-2012 has received a record breaking number of applications.
So far officials have received 3,84,179 applications.
The applications are all set to cross the 4 lakh mark, with many applying after paying late fee, till May 9.
A total of 3,83,985 applicants had submitted their forms for Eamcet- 2010, which was till now the highest ever.
Though the last date for receiving applications without late fee ended on March 30, authorities received 150 applications on Saturday.
The agriculture and medicine (AM) stream of Eamcet has received a huge number of applications compared to last four years.
The AM stream received 93,225 applications this year against last years' 68,640 applications.
The all-time record of number AM applications is 94,466 in 2007.
The stream has received 24,759 more applications compared to last year.
As usual, girls have outperformed boys in number of applications in AM stream and boys outscored girls in engineering stream.
According to Eamcet convener NV Ramana Rao, they have received a total of 3,84,179 applications including 2,20,447 from boys and 1,63,732 from girls against last years' 3,47,562.
The Eamcet convener also has received as many as 2,200 applications from foreign students from nearly 20 nations and the number of foreign applications also saw a rise of 200, compared to last year.
The online application system has enabled NRIs to apply for Eamcet, Rao has said.
The online system the last two years was optional, when they received only 10,000 applications. Rao stated, as they have received more than 3.8 lakh applications, the online application process has proved to be a grand success.
