As we want the maximum pH, the ionic product=solubility product.

or [Mg2+][OH-]2 = 1.12x10-11

[Mg2+] = 0.1 (Given)

Solving for [OH-], we get [OH-] = 1.058x10-5.

Or pOH = -log(1.058x10-5)

or pOH = 4.97

pH = 14-pOH = 14-4.97 = 9.3

Will nip in at times to solve problems :)
