see here E is in x direction.so particle will not turn with only E or u can say due to E particle will speed up in x direction not change direction.
Now the particle changes direction due to B in z direction.
if there were only B then the path wud be circular but u mentioned that the path is not circular so there has to be E
therefore the ans is
E=ai AND B=ck + aj
mark the word AND.
