Here are my answers ( underlined) to your set of questions:

1. Have u ever heard the name of this instt. ?
No

2.And if so, is the brand name of the coaching reliable ? I personally have never heard of this academy.

Haven't heard about it.But if it is Kota based, it may not be all that bad.

However, more important is the peer group.The way I see it :one learns 30 % from the peer group, 50 % thru self study & 20% from the teachers. U might not get a crowd of good students in your city at KLiit coaching centre.In case, u know of even 5 good students ( or some very good teachers) joining this institute at your city, you might want to reconsider joining KLiit.

3. I reside in distant north east India and no coaching instt. r there at hour town. A few r there at state capital which is 13 hours drive from here.

U are battling against heavy odds. Success would be all the more rejuvenating in your case. It would serve as a beacon to many boys & girls, coming from none too privileged backgrounds, in the days to come.

4. In near future, i don't see any possibility of Narayana, brilliant etc to come here. Even no test centre venue is here. the nearest one, as i have said, is 13 hrs away

The dice is loaded against u. But I am sure u will succeed in JEE 2009.

5. I have not taken any test series as I m a state board student and what is in our 2nd yr (12 class ) is in 11 of cbse. For example, we read elasticity, fluid in 12. where as these r in 11 of cbse.Similarly some thing which we learn in 11 are learnt in 12 in cbse. All india test series follow cbse arrangement.

This is true of all State Board students.....whichever State they belong to.By this time next year ( ie 2008 December ), it would be a level playing field for State Board/CBSE/ICSE students. You need to look at your rank in the full Syllabus Tests.
Unfortunately, coaching institutes like FIITJEE don't give u a rank if u don't write
their tests from the authorised Test centres (Gauhati would be a centre. Check out if u have any other centre near yr home) .If u write the test at your home & send it
to them by post, they will give u yr marks but won't indicate yr rank

6. I take private tutions in phy, chem and maths and often skips college. Even the private tutors r final exam oriented not much entrance focussed.

7. I have the standard books. But no correspondence and no test series for reasons stated in point 5. I intend to take 1 or 2 test series from april, 2008 for 1 year.

U join the following CORRESPONDENCE courses:
1. www.123iitjee.com (This one wd be good for u)......join their Online Test Series...this is cheap...below 2000/- Rs
2. VIDYAMANDIR classes(Take their Test Series)....one full year Postal course....this would cost u abt 10,000 Rs
3. www.prernaclasses.com ( Take their Test Series)....only during the last 3/4 months......no idea abt the costs.....but the quality of test is very good
4..The test series of Resonance Kota is also quite good. U may take their tests online Cost abt 10,000 Rs. .

From 2 & 3 , at least 50-100 genuine full time students qualify in IIT every year.
So, u will have a good benchmark of your rank.

FIITJEE & Brilliant don't have an online test system in place.

8. Against this backdrop " KL iit Academy " arrived here.

9. Now should I continue with private tutions which r basically marks focussed or take admission to the KL iit Academy ?

If u take admission in KL iit, stop Private tuition.
If u don't take admission in KL iit, u may continue with your tuition till September/Oct 2008.Thereafter it is better to revise./study on your own.
