hii
well there is jus a generalised formula to find out chain isomers in alkanes upto a 6 C atoms only....i dont think dat there is any for more than dat
for chain isomers upto 6 C atoms.......here it is------
no. of C+no. of H /4
eg. for C6H14 6+14 /4 = 20/4 = 5
