yaar spidey,it happens eveywhere,in any channel.Maybe I wasnt clear - you dont hear the sound from the channel,but you hear a crackling sound first.

Kishan's explanation seems to fit the bill...once the cathode ray tube gets heated,audio mmatches video....but before that only sound reaches us.
