ok lemme give an example of this. U have seen the gas-filter "masks" used while driving in polluted areas. It usually has finely-divided charcoal, which has more affinity for CO and NO than CO2 or any other gas. So, it adsorbs CO, and does thus provides a better "air" for respiration.
A diamond is merely a lump of coal that did well under pressure. So imagine how brilliant a human being can be by sustaining pressures of life. Be hopeful.. and fight till end.
