ansewr is correct sinjan........ You have made a fundamental mistake....... If 0 is filled in the first digit....then it has no meaning.....that is it will no longer be a 4 digit number...it becomes a 3 digit value so except 0...all 4 digits can take up the 1st place So no of ways of filling the first place is 4 Now no of ways of filling 2nd place is also 4 (as 0 is now included) 3rd place can be filled in 3 ways Last digit can be filled in 2 ways So no of ways 4*4*3*2 = 96 ways Hope you got it

All that is gold does not glitter
Not all who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by frost.
From ashes a fire shall be woken
From shadows a light shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that's broken
The crown less again shall be king. |
