ya...A physical dipole consists of two equal and opposite point charges...think of a molecular dipole..many moleculus have dipole moments due to non-uniform distributions of positive and negative charges on the various atoms..(plural)...to be more specific, dipoles are caused to separation of postive charge(s) and negative charge(s) over a finite distance...
