Hey man think before you speak, Mathematics has been
the queen of sciences and will continue to be......Without
mathematics its impossible to proceed in any branch of
science. The point that you have brought up is centuries
old. @ Feynman is correct. Purav has also pointed out
correctly and ya what Priyesh told is quite correct.Your
knowledge is only upto Euclidean Geometry,do you know
what Non Euclidean Geometry is? Non euclidean
geometry has also its own properties and a
superstructure by itself as is Eucledian Geometry. Like
in non euclidean geometry the three angles of a triangle
never add up to 180 degrees. There has been constant
"fights" and arguements among scientists and
philosophers (from Pythagoras to Bertnard Russel, and
Alfred Godel to Allan Turing) about what is truth? Which
has not yet been answered. And so there has been a
silent understanding among the best scientists and
phlosophers that it is impossible to prove the consistency
of axioms within the system.

From J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Lord of the Rings':
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by frost.
From ashes a fire shall be woken
From shadows a light shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that's broken
The crown less again shall be king. |
