Well , the 2nd round of placements have started and again about 200 students are to be placed.The rest are either in PS-2 or are dualites(So they'll be placed next academic year)



About 30 companies have registered till now.

Along with most of the above companies ,this sem , Wells Fargo(Investment company) , Godrej , BCS(specialist consulting group) , Oracle(Consultancy services) , CISCO , Motorola are also coming.



Till now , placements have taken place for :

1) Yahoo: Took 1 person(had taken 2 last sem)

2)CISCO : Took 4 ppl(Hadn't come last sem)

3) Oracle (Consultancy Services) , took 8(!!) ppl (hadn't come last sem )

4)Redpine Signals: Don't have info , must have taken ~2-3 , also came last sem

5)Wipro and Wipro VLSI , results should be out today.



Interesting Developments :



1) We've got in touch with Lehman Brothers and they are interested in coming next sem.But we'll try to get them this sem itself.



2)A senior guy from Schlumberger came and checked out our campus and was pretty impressed , espec. with our chemical labs(He better be;the labs are absolutely new!).Says Schlum will come next sem , as they have pretty much planned the recruiting stuff for this sem .Again we'll try to get them this sem.



3)BCS Australia is also coming and is offering 60 ,000 AUD per annum(52 116 US$) .Thats gotta be an international placement no doubt!!!!

In the end , all I can say is : BITS Rockkkksss!!!

Last semester , Microsoft had taken 7 people , NVidia 2 , Yahoo 2, Samsung 4 and all these big companies are coming again.

A total of 197 students received 305 job offers during the last placement season.

Now , for over 3 years now, BITS Pilani Goa Campus , has been compared to a variety of colleges across India , in order to predict its standing , its quality of placements , etc.

Now , based on this above data , please give your comments.Please remember that this is the first time ever that BPGC is having its placements.
