Ah there my friend lies the folly.
The folly of reducing a quadratic to a linear expression !
(2 - 3/2)^2 = (1 - 3/2)^2
actually on solving it, you don't get
2 - 3/2 = 1 - 3/2
what you get is:
2 - 3/2 = 3/2 - 1
1/2 = 1/2
See that's the mistake of simply cancelling square power to reduce to linear!
