R C is good book for beginners as far as physical chem is concerned
HCV has nice problems and it helps to build concepts.....(i find mechanics and heat part nice but not EM)
regarding u not able to concentrate take a break of 10 mins every 1 hr...
also give some time for doing activity which u like ....such as listening to music... in such a way ur mind will not wander and it will be relaxed..
