It is easy to understand the concept of wavelength by defn rather than by its graph....
It is the difference between 2 CONSECUTIVE crests or troughs, so if it becomes zero(rather tends to it), then it becomes a ray.
If it becomes infinity, then two consecutive crests become infinitely apart, but between these points, it is not neccesarily a ray...

This is MY theory, rate if convinced...
