fr the ncert ques 28th (iii) heres the ans :

when benzyl ethyl ether is treated wid HI it forms benzylalcohol and iodoethane...


n i guess the reason mite b the clevage takes place after C6H5CH2
coz CH2 is directly attached to the benzyl grp n has partial double bond character.
