for first ur right but for second ur method is valid to convert 3-nitrotoluene into 3-methylaniline just the opposite to what u wrote

 

for what u wrote i.e 3-methylanaline into 3-nitrotoluene

first convert to dizonium salt then and HBF4 & then NaNo2  to get 3-nitrotoluene
