Q1 . A is alpha glucose . B is beta glucose........ (i) anomers
(ii) no they cannot be called as enantiomers since they are not mirror images of each other
(iii)anomer A is alpha glucose . refer to the text book for structure......
Q2. 2KI + HgI2 ----------> K2HgI4 reactant side 4 ions....... 2K+ and 2I-
product side 3 ions ...... 2K+ and HgI4 -
so no of ions has decreased...... so freezing point is raised.....
Q3 Cu2+ is hydrated well in aqueous solutions so it is more stable..... also the second ionisation enthalpy is compensated by the large negative hydration enthalpy. so Cu2+ is stable.......
Cu+ disproportionates in aqueous solutions........ 2Cu+ -----------> Cu + Cu2+
Eo value for this reaction is positive . so it is favoured.........
thus Cu2+ is more stable than Cu+.......
