benzaldehyde------------->on reduction--------------.benzyl alcohol-------->on reaction with hcl------->benzoyl zhloride------>the wurtzfitting reaction to get 3phenyl propane which on chlorination will give 3 phenyl 1-chloro propane which on nucleophilic substitution will give 3 phenyl propan-1-ol..
i know its too long procedure but i guess i am rite i dont know...temme pls...
and ya u can do aldol condensation with benzaldehyde with another aldehyde which has alpha hydrogen it will be crossed aldol.... i think pls lemme know if i am rite...
