we know that any body that performs a shm can represented as a circular motion. this circular motion will have a angular velocity  = V/R, this  is know as the angular frequency of the shm. as its cicular motion,
T = 2R/V
so, T = 2/  as  = V/R.
 
linear frequency is  = V/
