Hi,
If a capacitor is present in a DC circuit, no current flows.
In an AC circuit, Resistance due to a capacitor is 1/C

where C is capacitance and

is the frequency of the AC source.
SO, current = V / Resistance of capacitor
= V / (1/C

)
= VC

This is when only capacitor is there in the circuit,
If inductor and resistor is also present, then net resistance(impedence) is
Sqrt(R2 + ( Xc - Xl )2 ) ------------------- Eq. 1
If only capacitor and resistance, Xl is 0.
Hope you got it !!!!!!
