For Anna univ(AU), now that TNPCEE is not being conducted, they see only ur board marks. For engineering, they add up ur maths, physics and chemistry marks and consider that total(on 300) for admission.
The TN state govt. syllabus is very easy compared to CBSE (imagine, there'll be 100 students who actually score centum in math-that easy!) So to help the CBSE students, ppl in-charge of the admissions add 5 marks to our avg. while allotting colleges. i.e., if u get 95% in CBSE, it is considered equal to 100% at state board level . Plus, there is supposed to be a 3% quota for CBSE students . So, u hav a good chance of entering the College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), if u score abt 95 in MPC.
Even otherwise, there r 100s of colleges affliated to AU & u can always get a seat in one of the best among them thru AU counseling like PSG (Coimbatore), etc.
Please rank if u found it useful.
