see aqeous KOH is used to generate nucleophilic OH- and thus used mainly in preparation of alcohols !!!!!it becomes K+ and OH- in aqeous medium!! whereas in the case of alcohlic KOH OH- is not generated due to presence of non polar medium and thus KOH acts as a strong base in abstracting H+ and thus causes elimination understood??? rate if useful!!!!
