in physical terms: when u r considerin inertia abt a particula axix..it K is tht effective dist from the axis @ which a pt lies such tht the total mass mass of the body can assumed to be concenrated.. wat i mean is suppose u have a irregular body wid random mass distribution,if u can identify a pt A such tht the total mass can be assumed to be the conc @ A ,then the dist of tht pt from the axis is K the situation then amountss to a v.small body of mass M situated at a dist K from the axis so I of tht body will b MK^2
