svj there is interaction with electrons n this does not matter with speed...the reason it does not get affected in its path is tht the effective acc in a diff direction caused on the alpha particle is extremely small how can u say vel matters? field due to electrons or ne chrgd particles travel @ speed pf light so watever speed u send it the alpha particla cannot evade the field.. so i still stick to the fact tht vel does not matter
