mg acts abt the COM, so torque to it is 0. This is because is 0. So the net torque is only due to the force N1 and N2. Divide the triangle into 2. Now read my previous post. What is the perpendicular distance from the point where N1 acts to the 'height' of the triangle? It is equal to L. To dertermine the direction of torque use the right hand thumb rule. Keep your fingers aligned along the line joining the point where you are taking torque to the point of appliaction of the force. Then curl your fingers in the direction of the force. The direction your thumb is pointing to gives the direction of torque. Anti clockwise torque is taken as postive by convention. You will notice that the torque due to N1 and N2 are equal in magnitude but opposite in direction.
