1) for the reaction 2 NOCl(g) ------->2 NO(g) + Cl2 (g) ,calculate the equilibrium constant at 400 K if H degree = 77.18 kJ mol ^-1 and S degree = 0.122 kJ K^-1 mol ^-1   ( ans 1.97x 10 ^-4 )

2) A gas in the initial state A having pressure 5 Nm ^-2 and volume 2 m^3 is changed to state C having pressure 15 Nm ^-2and volume 6 m^3 following paths ABC and AC.Path ABC includes path AB and BC.  The state B has pressure 15 Nm^-2 and volume 2 m^3 calculate
(a) path along which work done is least.
(b) internal energy at C if the internal energy of gas at A is 10 J and amount of heat supplied to change its state to C through the path AC is 200 J.

(c) amount of heat supplied to gas to go from A to B,if internal energy of gas at state B is 10 J.
(ans  (a) W ac = 40 J  (b) 170 J   (c)  10 J .
